You bring the story... I'll bring the camera

Hi, I'm Lauren—and I'm really glad you're here.

I'm just a homegrown Ohio girl who somehow turned the camera I got in middle school into a 19-year career doing something I genuinely love. I grew up right here in a tiny one-stoplight town, graduated High School, and then - after spending eight years in Indianapolis building my photography career and learning from some of the best wedding photographers in the business - found my way back home.

Today, I live in the same community I grew up in with my husband, our son & daughter, 2 giant dogs, 1 very pampered cat, and a whole herd of chickens. Basically, I'm living the small-town life I always loved—and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I've been photographing people since I was a teenager, and I photographed my first wedding at just 19 years old. Somewhere along this crazy journey, I realized that what I love most isn't simply taking a beautiful picture...

It's meeting people. It's building a connection. It's telling a story.

After nearly two decades behind the camera, I've learned that most people don't actually love having their picture taken. OPE! (excuse my mid-west coming out)

But... honestly? That's okay. You don't need to know how to pose. You don't need to be a model. You don't need to magically know what to do with your hands.

That's my job.

My goal is for your session to feel less like a photo shoot and more like a really fun outing with someone you happen to trust with a camera. I'll guide you when you need direction, get you moving when things start feeling stiff, make you laugh when you're taking things too seriously, and probably tell you to ignore the camera altogether at least once or twice. Because some of my favorite images have been taken when people forgot they were being photographed.

My background? It's actually in theatre. And that has become a huge part of what makes me so good at the way I approach photography. I'm a storyteller at heart, and years of working with actors, directing productions, creating characters, and bringing stories to life have taught me to look for more than a pretty pose. I look for personality. I help bring out emotion. I spot the little moments between the big ones. In other woods, I'm the person who sees the things that make your story yours.

Whether I'm photographing a wedding, a high school senior, a family that's grown by one more little person, or a couple who just wants to remember this season of their life, I want your images to feel like you.

Real. Joyful. A little bit playful. Beautiful without feeling overly perfect.
